I'm off for a walk in the woods. Then to take a few bits to the charity shop. I do a lot of work for charidee but don't like to talk about it. (I don't really).
Then hopefully Jeff will have delivered Lies of P so that I don't play it and watch premier league footy instead.

I enjoyed The Jesus And Mary Chain a lot, the football less so. A combined four stars. JAMC put on a good show, raucous. Jim was in good form and quite chatty. It always helps if the singer is clearly enjoying it. The support was ok as well. Aircooled. I am not expecting great things of them, but they were fine as a support act. Best of all I had a seat that was reasonably comfortable. Though the balcony vibrated somewhat disconcertingly during some of the louder bass parts.. I think it's designed to. As it was in part suspended from the support columns. The best bit? William's hair. No doubt. A magnificent set of white curls. Full Brian May. I am very much hoping Crankcaller still has his William Reid haircut up to date. It was bigger than in this photo |

It's more Jim Reid in that photo. But only a smattering of grey around the ears. It doesn't get as curly these days.
The Apollo in Glasgow had a balcony that shook with the music. It wasn't designed to do that though.

Things that annoy me about getting older.
I made an appointment over the phone for a not-smoking course. All well and good until they asked me how old I was. Then, the lady on the other end started speaking to me very, very slowly. Kept asking me if I wanted an appt letter sent out or a reminder text the day before. No, I'm writing this all down with a pen & paper, I'm not senile - you fuck.
Banks. I was in a bank a few days ago, paying a cheque in. Well, I was until some staff member offers to show me me use the bloody ATM to do it. No, there's no-one in the queue and I've just filled out a paying-in slip. "But, it gives you a nice picture of your cheque". What is this? Fucking Sesame Street? Will you just fuck off and leave me alone.
Cars that stop to let you cross the road. Now, I appreciate the gesture but what you do not realise is that my primary concern is not looking to see why you have stopped the traffic and certainly not to look for a 'waving me across' hand motion. My concern is not getting my legs broken by the cars coming the other way. Also, I've crossed the road many times in my life and not had any problems.
