I hadn't. i assumed you were complaining about the 'noises made by musical instruments' clue. Quite possibly the worst clue to appear in the G quick crossword.
It turns out you weren't. I didn't really register the mastadon issue, being too furious about the music clue.
It really is a poor crossword today.
