Along with Diana Rigg and Jeremy Clarkson, he's from Doncaster. The fact that Doncaster is now also home to an extensive school and college for the deaf may not be coincidental

For anyone into audio books, I recommend Brian Blessed's autobiography, Absolute Pandemonium, as the perfect way to pass the drudge of the commute. It is a masterpiece, although I fear I may never watch Flash Gordon in the same way again. Read by the man himself, his on-set battles with the dwarves nearly had me off the road several times.
Also... when on Everest, do not *ever* camp below the French.
