Morning!
Saw the new Star Wars film on Saturday and thoroughly enjoyed it. It sounds like it’s been quite divisive among fans but I definitely fall in the “think it’s really good” camp.
Had a Magic draft yesterday in what was the first of many events that my friend is putting on over the Christmas period - Who needs to spend time with family when they could be playing a card game for children?

It had some good scenes but one part just kinder floundered along (literally). Hamill did good though.

Charlie Brown being depressed specifically by 'Mondays' seems weird.
Isn't he depressed all the time? Not even 'my life is a waking nightmare' type depression because nightmares have too much energy. More a continual, low-level numbness. No ups, no downs just a never-ending flatline knowing today will be as blank as yesterday was with no hope tomorrow will be any different.
Lacking even the energy to end it all, just a grim acceptance that he'll have to face this grinding emptiness for the next seven decades.
Seems a bit much to single out 'Mondays' for special attention in this bleak, grey cavalcade of nothingness.

That's obviously a typo but I'm liking it and taking it on board as his new moniker.

Star wars 5 4 8 7 Rogue 6 3 1 2 5 Rogue 4 7 8* 6 3 1 2 8 is * because I need to see it again to make a full evaluation. There was a lot more comedy in it than a normal SW film, while at the same time being dark as fuck. I was hoping it was going to be the Finn and Poe show, but that didn't pan out. Some weird choices in the story, and overall I think it was less consistent than 7.

Wait, I need to talk about games as well, and not just Things That Matter.
Still playing GT Sport. I managed to get 3 pole positions, none of which I translated into a win. I am not Mansell, I'm Rosberg circa 2014. Sacking off the one shot races, I went for one of the series races to see if I could play with the big boys. I qualified 19/19, due to my 3 qualifying laps being ruined by 1) me being a twat going into the straight and belting off the barrier and 2) and 3) a couple of absolute rockets knocking me off the road. I thought what I'd do was just pootle along at the back, getting my safety rating up. In the end though, I couldn't resist racing and managed to finish 12th, getting my driver and safety rating up to B. The racing was a LOT fairer in that race than I've previously encountered, with only 1 bellend trying to ram me as I went past him. It was actually a really enjoyable race.
Authentic Motorised Gibberish.

I’ve got a business proposal for Lord Sugar - Trousers 2.0, IoT (internet of trousers), with AI powered ITR (Intelligent Trouser Release). Local mesh trouser mesh networking for exascale trousers.
During testing the ITR system was unable to distinguish between toilets, public transport and Cex stores, so automatically engages trouser release in all three for maximum convenience.

*Star wars spoilers*
Film took ages to get going, the bit where Finn and Rose goes to the casino seemed a bit pointless and only served to introduce Del Toro's character. Two points though really puzzle me.
1. How did the First Order track the rebels through hyper space? This is never explained. 2. How did Del Toro's character betray the rebellion by providing codes for their cloaked ships when he had no idea of the plan?
Those stupid birds things were sub Jar Jar Binks.
4 stars I guess.
A bit of progress on Doom made.

Morning. Star Wars Friday afternoon, overall I agree with comments above (or below, if you've changed the view). Very enjoyable, some sequences that weren't quite up to it and a lot more comedy while still also having some incredible drama. My staff party on Friday night. Four stars. I left before anyone got too out of hand. Saturday I knocked out the Osiris DLC. It was... fine. More Destiny, some new weapons. But no really new enemies, Osiris gets very little screen time and the new area is, well, it's a fucking joke. Sunday I played a lot of Division. Like, a lot. I think Survival is my favourite mode from any game, ever. It's like a hardcore Fallout mode, but where you run through it in maybe 90 minutes and at the end all the loot rewards go to your main character. My favourite tactic is getting the advanced filter to hit up some infected areas before going in the DZ. Plus checking when anyone is killed to see if it is feasible to go loot their corpse, but I really need those materials and loot.

Attack of the Clones is better The Phantom Menace, the former even had good reviews when it came out. No idea where all the hate for Clones has come from but the current opinion does seem to be that it's the worse.
For the record:
1. Empire Strikes Back 2. New Hope 3. Turkish Star Wars 4. Revenge of the Sith 5. Return of the Jedi 6. The Force Awakens 7. Rogue One 8. Attack of the Clones 9. The Last Jedi 10. The Phantom Menace

Case closed. I was so bored during The Phantom Menace that I considered leaving during the pod race. The only thing which saved it being a genuine one star effort was the duel at the end, but even that is flawed - when Obi Wan is hanging there at the end how is he able to perform a huge jumping loop thing over Darth Maul without being halved and quartered before he hits the ground?

That part would have been much more effective if he’d used the force to grab his lightsaber and attacked Maul as he was jumping up. A moment of bad choreography in an otherwise brilliantly choreographed sequence.

Morning! It sounds like it’s been quite divisive among fans but I definitely fall in the “think it’s really good” camp. If you're talking about Rotten Tomatoes it seems to be trolling on the user reviews, opinions taking after people had just seen the film give it an "A"

Debating whether Attack of the Clones is better than Phantom Menace is like arguing over whether you'd like to be kicked very hard in the nuts or punched very hard in the face.

I remember back when it started being in it and there was a team of Rogues. A load of us teamed up (without actually joining ad a team) and took them out the wandered around taking out high level NPCs. The wait at extraction, some holding off NPCs whilst we waited. Really good.
