Seal of approval? If you know any seals, urge them to take Thursday off - the detailed forecast shows it will get to 36c or 96f IN THE SHADE; body temperature. That's heatstroke territory. Going into direct sunlight for any length of time is a very bad idea. So prepare your seal friends for a day off... doing nothing

Morning!
I see God* has taken a dim view of our new PM too! Sounded like end times around 3am. The change in temperature was welcome however.
Last night I bought one new game and one not new game. DQB2 is purchased, downloaded and started, off the back of Tenthens recommendation. Whilst that was downloading I had a little look on Steam and saw that Nier Automata has 33% off atm. This was duly purchased and is downloading as we speak. Yes it's the second copy of that game** that I own but it's so, so good. Top 5 GOAT for me, easily. Could do with the first one being remastered/ re-released on modern consoles/ PC, that was also very good.
*Insert deity of choice here, or just put it down to coincidental weather patterns. I prefer the former. ** I also own a copy on PS4. I'm not completely mental, despite owning 3 copies of Stardew Valley . . .

Cracking thunder storm last night, so much lightning is reminded me of my rave days.
No opportunities yet to try my new graphics card, maybe tomorrow.
TV: Happy and Black Summer.
Feet: Sore

I realised something this morning. It turns out that the extractor vent for my air-con is underneath my neighbours bedroom window, and you know how I like them. Good times.

Hi. Games: bit of Apex Legends. The big dinosaurs are on the land now. The new character is a bit crap. I am still a bit scrap too, but its still a lot of fun.
Also a bit more Lords of Midnight on the phone. This is still such a good game in more than just a nostalgic way.
Telly: Last Chance U on Netflix. Those crazy Americans!
OTTM: fucking hell.

Eurgh, AMD. Jokes aside. That's about equivalent with a 1080ti, right? Very nice. I keep eyeing up the 2080ti but fear 8 months is a little too soon to upgrade, that's before I even consider how I'd pay for it (they're still obscenely over priced, but the Aorus closed loop is very pretty . . .). I want to at least make it to my one year anniversary before she files for divorce.

Yeah I think it's around a 1080ti, I just need it to hit 144 FPS for PUBG and Apex Legends at 1440p which is should do with one or two things dialed down. More than ever I think the really high end Nvidia cards are terrible value at the moment.

OTTM - got an electrician over this morning to fault-find some low ohms. I ain't got enough ohms! I kept getting endless probs with my PCs; replaced mobo; power supply etc. The faults included blue SoDs; fucked CDs dying mid-write ... 18 months. it was the mains supply, voltage drops, spikes, the lot - my part of town is way out on the edge and I was told by Transco could be improved = £10k bill at least. The solution was a UPS... Not a single problem since. My saviour was the previous version of Tripp Lite 1500VA/900W SmartPro UPS... pricey, but replacement of bits of a £2k rig was much higher ...

Southeastern Trains:
"Extremely hot weather is forecast for tomorrow, Thursday 25th July, and speed restrictions will be introduced across the rail network.
Metal rails in direct sunshine can exceed 50 degrees and Network Rail need to introduce these speed restrictions to reduce the chance of rails buckling in the heat.
Significantly fewer services will be running tomorrow, and many trains will be much busier than usual as a result. Those trains which do run will take longer to complete their journeys - particularly on our longer-distance routes.
We strongly advise you to avoid travelling, if you can."

Its at full wiggle here this morning, roiling hot. That thunderstorm last night was welcome but didn't really cool things down in the big city. Looks to be insane weather tomorrow, luckily yours truly can wiggle from home.
OTTM - Hot

Weather
It was pretty exciting. I'm afraid Chumbles advice to go to sleep coincided pretty much with the start of the electrical storm. The clouds were reflecting a lot of lightning from a distance so I could not hear thunder for every strike, but it was every 10 seconds for about 40 minutes and at the peaks there was more than one separate flash each second.
When it died down just after 2 I did go to sleep. I was woken at 3.30 by an almighty crack. I didn't see the lightning but the crispness of the crack suggested it was pretty close. Also it set off a car alarm (not mine) in the car park. There was another briefer storm.
