I bought a Panasonic DP-UB450EB 3D 4K UHD HDR Blu-Ray/DVD Player for work for £179 a few months ago. It's very good (though needed an immediate firmware update to actually work). There was a cheaper one very similar, but with fewer connecty holes at the back. Through a 4K projector to a decent sized screen it looks fucking amazing. That a good 4k player, but it does not do a great job of upscaling lower resolution dvds like the UB820. |

If you're after a 4k dvd player then I recommend a Panasonic UB820 if your telly has Dolby Vision. A UB420 if no Dolby Vision. I am not sure I know what my tv has but thanks will look into those.  |

I'm actually thinking of getting a DVD player this weekend, to watch the collection of crap I've been hoovering up from CEX. Getting in on the ground floor of the 2040s DVD revival. I have a tremendous number of cables in the corner by the TV Router Switcher Ethernet plug TV PS2 (unplugged) PS3 PS4 PS5 Sky box Xbox 360 (unplugged)DVD recorder (unplugged) Steamlink (unplugged) NAS 4K Blu Ray player AV Receiver 2 8TB HDDs for PS4 and PS5 for PS4 games Streamer Sub woofer Two plug extensions Plus wiring going out to 6 speakers I don't think there's anything else there It's mostly hidden behind the unit the TV stands on. What I really need is to extend the room out and have a false wall so the cabling is actually hidden. Are you worried the sub woofer may annoy the neighbours? I am considering a different setup now the kids are older but will still inevitably manage to break. |
