Server into the sun cannon wins followed by elite, anyone interested in space trucking again? Cyberpunk, more brain zapping from a distance and then run in and stab anyone standing. Lots of side bits and no main missions recently, not as deep as some of Skyrim/Witcher side missions.

Like many people, Iβve been fully converted to the joys of the grenache (or garnacha as itβs known in Spain) grape variety over the past few years, thanks largely to a new wave of red wines made from the variety in a light, soft, juicily red-fruited, intensely drinkable style. Domaine of the Bee β an estate in the rugged far south of Franceβs grenache country near the border with Spain owned by English couple Justin and Amanda Howard-Sneyd with their French friend Philippe Sacerdot β makes one of the best of this breed Iβve tasted recently: a gloriously rosehip-tangy, raspberry-racy coulis gently infused with wild rosemary and thyme that goes by the name of The Bee Side. It's no Chablis.
Morning!

Well, the sun is up, so yeah, I'm up for starting now, I literally can't see a problem with that. Rioja?
Games: played some Fortnite, did some kills, won some games. Sheeps came along for the ride.
OTTM: The Bastard Who Was Me Last Night drank too much, stayed up too late, and ignored MIMO*. It's too late for me to get my revenge on The Bastard Who Was Me Last Night, but I'm seriously considering taking my anger out on The Sitting Duck Who Will Be Me Tomorrow.

Games. A bit more Ghost of Tsushima. Blood and guts everywhere. Sometimes even the enemies!
Glastoblog. Pet Shop Boys, a small revision of Macca, two mins of Kendrick, 5 mins of Bicep.
Skipping leg day.

All this wine nonsense! You get all these wine people, don't you? Wine this, wine that. Let's have a bit of red, let's have a bit of white. Ooh, that's a snazzy bouquet. Oh, this smells of, I don't know, basil. Sometimes you just want to say, sod all this wine, just give me a pint of, mineral water.

I've been a big fan of Grenache based wines for a long time. It is the backbone of southern Rhone wines A good cotes du Rhone or cotes du Rhone Villages is pumped full of Grenache. I love Ventoux wines. They were very unfashionable and cheap but amazingly. They also age very well. You keep one until it is 5 years old and you have something for β¬3.50 that would sell for β¬20-30 at retail. When young they were good rough traditional red wine, but as the tannins aged they gained a level of sophistication. I think they have become a bit better known now though and aren't such a bargain.
Sainsbury used to do an cheap old vines garnacha that for wine bought in the UK was amazing value. Very drinkable The rioja and thee tempranillo they do are still pretty good, but I preferred the OVG. It was cheap, very drnkable and not too heavy.
If you want a proper wine Chateuneuf Du Papes are almost all Grenache . Obviously they tend to be a bit pricier.
Other wines are also available.

Languedoc-Roussillon used to be a reliable source of cheap not great wine. When we stayed there the local village wine was just about ok. I did visit them and bought a bottle of their good wine which was only about β¬10. I kept it a year or two and when I drank it was astonishingly good compared to the main stuff they sold. Very good value as well.
I thin they have improved the wines in LR and are aiming more at quality than volume which is frankly disappointing.

Chateuneuf Du Jean-Pierre Papin is tremendous, but very pricey. Well yes. It is very much a buy only in the superarket wine. If you see it in a restaurant the prices are eyewatering. I very much like the Sainsbury Clos L'Oratoire which is often available for around Β£25. I compare it to pub restaurant prices where the bottles don't really start until Β£25 and it makes me feel better about it. It's also very much the same price as in France. It's only at the cheap end that FRench supermarkets have bargains. I very much need to go to Auchan or Carrefour to stock up on cheap Ventoux. I suspect that the exchange rate now may make this less good than it was.

It's no Chablis. Morning! Red wine for the win! If you have the money,Chateau Lafite Rothschild, Paulliac (given 2 bottles as a leaving present; I must have done something right), less money: Chateau Brane-Cantenac, Margaux (Deuxieme Grand Cru Classe), slightly less money: ChΓ’teau Lousteauneuf, Haut-MΓ©doc (I once brought home from France* 3 cases of this Cru Bourgeois for Β£6.50 a bottle for 'laying down' - turned out to be me, not the wine... genuinely irresistible = 14 months and all gone) π’ you remember the really really good bottles like wonderful friends who have passed on. And really decent wines should be share. *I bought the three cases from Gabriel Breen (expat Irishman, married to the lovely Tizzy, an Englishwoman) at La Cave du Coux... which I visited every 2nd year until 2006... Less exalted heights, the CarmΓ©nΓ¨re grape, now mainly Chilean and Malbec (more intense; go to Cahors, taste and buy it there) are excellent mid-range choices. Why 'Clarets' rather than Burgundies or Rhones? Because, wonderful as the latter are (and brilliant with beef), they carry an alcoholic punch and higher tannin that means drinking a brace with a good friend leads to a day of such horrible hangover pain that death seems a viable alternative. Of course it's all a matter of taste and wines errr interact with each person's body chemistry uniquely...
