That took a solid minute of staring at before I got it. Brain slow morning in. I went to Nottingham Uni, my mate stayed on and ended up buying our old student house after the landlord died. I've never bothered visiting him and havent been back (I'm that type of friend). Last time I saw him a a few years ago I asked if the old neighbourhood had changed much in 20 odd years, he thought for a minute and said 'The lady who works in Shoparama has shaved her moustache off' |

Our old student house has been gentrified to fuck and looks great. Or did 10 yrs ago when I last passed it. They're yet to add a blue plaque.
I wish I'd bought a house in that area then as they're worth a bloody fortune now.

Games. Couple of rounds of battlefield V. Deleted Warzone. Would probably be decent enough with mates. *Sobs*
Ordered a USB DVD-RW as I'm going to do a Rolling and rip all my CDs. Properly this time as I only did about 50 previously. I've got a bunch of mp3's from folk as well - albums I don't own. I might pay £25 for iTunes match and get them in AAC.

I'm mean it's probably just a function of living in a succession of rough neighbourhoods & the natural march of progress, but it's hard not to feel like it's simply me being there that makes a place a ghetto |

I think most student areas become gentrified eventually. Most students spend obscene amounts on eating out, drinking, coffee, clothes etc...so it attracts nicer shops, bumps up house prices and therefore brings in additional investment.

I really tried to make that work. I grated off the outside of the piece to expose the non-oxidised, 'fresher' material in the middle, but no joy. Still absolutely hard as concrete, with just an overwhelming smell of my mum's dusty old dry storage area (emphatically not a euphemism). Even having not been able to put my hands on any pot in some years, doesn't feel worth it |
